The word Anisa, in Arabic, means the tree
of life. It was selected to represent a new comprehensive
educational model. The Model was developed by a private
organization, ANISA (the American National Institute for Social
Advancement), in 1969. The project was carried out at the Center for
the Study of Human Potential, School of Education, University of
Massachusetts, Amherst. The ANISA project staff carried out their
efforts based on current philosophical thoughts and
experiments in behavioral sciences.
